Poetry Together Champions

Bring Poetry Together to your part of the world

Poetry Together is a simple idea: bringing younger and older people together through the shared joy of poetry, tea and cake.

We are looking for Poetry Together Champions across the UK to help make this possible.

A Champion might be a local volunteer, councillor, headteacher, or community member who can help connect schools, care homes and community groups in their area. We already have brilliant Champions helping to spread Poetry Together in communities from Perth and Kinross to the Isle of Wight, with Dame Floella Benjamin supporting the role for Greater London.

Their role is simple but special: to encourage their people locally to come together, share poetry, and help make new friendships across the generations.

We would be delighted to hear from you. Poetry Together Champions will be invited to a special Champions’ Lunch in London in September, where they can find out exactly what is involved and hear about the support available.
